Settling in.. and being busy

Sunday 12 February 2017

We are going into week 3. The children have settled in class and are enjoying the Action Stations.

Here are some photos of our children who arrive at 8.30am working together and sharing ideas. They are taking turns at the activities.

Coming into class and finding an activity to do was not difficult for the children. They have coped really well with the change.

The children are remembering the morning routines and need minimal reminders.

In week two the children had a choice of playdough, crafts, shapes and blocks.

In our choosing for maths activities, children used a variety of equipment.

They used iPads, shapes, blocks and cubes constructing and working together.

During our maths session, the children chose some maths activities after working on our Pictogram and Bar Graphs.

The children met the house groups and got to know each other and also chose their house captain. Week two was a short week but the children have done a variety of things.

The last two weeks, we have been working Statistics Strand. We have been working on collecting information and sorting them into groups. For our writing we have been writing recounts. The children have been writing about Waitangi Day.
